ABOUT PRivy

Bailey, Julia and Theresa have been producing in NYC collectively for over 30 years. 

We met and bonded over our shared background as artists and producers. We have each all produced on many different scales wearing countless hats –  taking projects from concept to presentation all over New York and beyond. 

Over the years, we have watched the industry change. There are fewer venues, publications that cover theater, and dedicated grants for individual artists. Major incubators have closed and even established theater institutions have whittled their seasons down to only a few shows a year in order to remain solvent. 

We came together because we believe artists should be empowered to make and present their own work. We believe that a lively and diverse ecosystem of theatre making is necessary for the health of the form. We do not want to miss out on what could have been made, just because an artist did not know where to begin.

Our goal is to help artists move their endeavors forward and share all the knowledge we’ve gained over the years. Whether you are an artist who is mounting their own work for the first time, or an established producer who recently moved to New York, or just feeling stuck in the development hell of a particular project, we will meet you where you are and help you take it to the next level - whatever that might be. We will create bespoke processes for your project with your goals in mind. 

We will work collaboratively to answer some key producing questions and fill in some of those hard to pin down gray areas.
